Ssam Burger. A review.

At the intersection of Collier Road and DeFoor's Ferry you will find Ssam burger in a little strip center. Unfortunately there is a cigar shop next door and some of that smell gets into the restaurant. You can always get your goodies to go.  The staff is chipper and well mannered. This goes a long way with me.  The restaurant is clean with no smell of grease or grills.

I am not longer a bubble tea virgin. I got a coconut tea with tapioca pearls. You get an array of choices for what you want in your tea but the tapioca pearls suited me just fine. Delicious and refreshing!

The menu is just the right size. I find so many burger joints have such a long list of options it overwhelms me and I end up with something less adventurous due to being exhausted attempting to make a decision.  The burgers are thick and cooked to order, medium unless you specify otherwise. Beefy flavor and nice brioche buns.  I got an aloha burger which is adored with cooked pineapple and some bacon. Just a bit of lettuce for a bed and a squirt of sriracha mayonnaise.  It tastes surprisingly simple. Balanced and hearty.

aloha burger and lotus chips

Lotus chips taste exactly like plantain chips.  Sweet potato fries are cooked to order and they aren't the orange sweet potatoes you know so well. These are japanese sweet potatoes which are a bit starchier and more yellow in color.

Other menu items include bowls, chicken and veggie burgers, and a few things for the non adventurous eaters in the group like mozzarella sticks and chicken wings.

If you're in the area and have an empty belly let Ssam burger fill it!
